Do you want to get root access on KitKat for Galaxy S3: Here is how!

KitKat has already been out there for your cell phones and now if you have Galaxy S3 phone with you, there is good news. However, KitKat for Galaxy S3 is downloadable to limited editions of Samsung Galaxy S3, the version with 3G-only GT-19300. Here is tutorial to show you how to get Galaxy S3 custom KitKat based ROM.

Rooting comes with risks, but not always. And maker of the phone doesn’t give any sort of warranty, if any damages occur to your devices. For safe and healthy rooting, you can follow the process as described below.

Prerequisite items for rooting:-

  • How Knox interfere with rooting.
  • Unlocked version of Galaxy S3 GT-19300 (International 3G model)
  • Stock Samsung Android version 4.3
  • Odin version 3.09
  • CF-Auto-Root
  • At least 80% battery charged

Galaxy S3

  1. First of all, you need to make backup of your data whatever sounds you important. Make back up to restore afterwards.
  2. Secondly, you need to check if you have all the relevant drivers need to be installed on your PC for Galaxy S3. You should also have USB debugging enabled (in developer options). Have not enabled yet? For that, go to Settings and then move into About Phone and Build Number. Now, start tapping and continue unless the toast pops up announcing you have enabled Developer Options.
  3. Now what? Turn your Galaxy S3 off and restart it in Download Mode. Here is how? For that, you need to press and hold volume down button of your phone, together with home and power button until there appears a warning sign on the screen (a triangle). Press volume up to enter into Download mode.
  4. Extract Odin and CF-Auto-Root, put them in the same folder and launch Odin.
  5. Here is the time to connect your Galaxy S3 in Download Mode enabled to your PC via USB cable. Now wait until Odin recognizes your phone (hint: COM box will turn into blue color).
  6. Find and locate the tar.md5 file from the unpacked CF-Auto-Root files while enabling AP box.
  7. Confirm that Repartition should be unchecked, whereas Auto Root and F. Reset Time are OK. Click start and wait, this process will take a while; don’t disconnect your phone meanwhile.
  8. After Reboot, disconnect your phone from your computer. Now you should have SuperSU installed in your Samsung Galaxy S3.
